Role
 
The Commercial Director will be responsible for shaping and executing the commercial strategy, consolidating existing relationships and expanding business opportunities with major international clients. A key part of the role will be to understand market trends and customer needs, working in close collaboration with R&D, Marketing, and Operations to co-develop innovative and sustainable solutions. The objective is to strengthen the company’s leadership, increase market penetration, and foster long-term partnerships based on value creation.


Key Responsibilities and Activities
  • Define, implement, and monitor the commercial strategy at both national and international levels, in line with company growth targets.
  • Manage and develop strategic accounts, ensuring strong partnerships with leading FMCG companies.
  • Anticipate customer trends and needs, translating them into tailored and innovative solutions together with R&D and Marketing.
  • Build strong collaborations with Operations to ensure feasibility and alignment of solutions with client expectations.
  • Lead and inspire the commercial organization (approx. 50 people), nurturing a culture of performance, customer centricity, and innovation.
  • Contribute to pricing, contract negotiations, and commercial policies.
  • Monitor KPIs, sales performance, and market trends, implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Key Qualifications
  • Degree in business, economics, engineering, or related disciplines; a Master’s in Business or Management is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of senior commercial experience, ideally gained in FMCG companies or in B2B industries serving FMCG clients (e.g. packaging, ingredients, automation).
  • Solid track record in managing large, international clients and complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong exposure to structured, multinational contexts, with a focus on innovation and sustainability.
  • Strategic vision combined with customer and results orientation.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive change, and foster innovation.
  • Fluency in English.
