Our client is a well-established industrial company operating in the automotive sector, with an international footprint and a strong focus on manufacturing excellence, operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
 
Role
 
The Plant Director is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of a manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production, quality standards, safety compliance, and achievement of business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilties
  • Lead, manage, and develop the plant operations team to meet or exceed productivity, quality, and safety goals.
  • Oversee production schedules and workflow to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Implement and monitor continuous improvement initiatives (such as Lean Manufacturing, Hoshin and CPS) to optimize processes and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, industry standards, and government regulations regarding safety, environmental, and labour requirements.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and allocate resources efficiently to maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, quality, and human resources to support plant objectives and resolve issues.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports for management: P&L analysis, Plant report, Plant dashboard.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the plant, granting CPS conformance.
  • Lead efforts to ensure the plant’s readiness for audits and certifications (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 14001).
Key Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven knowledge of automotive or industrial manufacturing processes and standards.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse data, solve problems, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Familiarity with ERP SAP and manufacturing software systems (MES as SIAP).
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.

Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing plant environment.
May require flexibility extended hours, on-call availability, and occasional travel.

Level: Dirigente
Fix salary package year: € 130.000/140.000
MBO: 20-30%
